I’ve been hiking, camping, and exploring America’s public lands for years. These are the things actually in my pack…or van — not a sponsored list, not a curated collection of things that sound good. The gear I reach for every time I head outside.
Everything below links directly to the product. Some links are affiliate links — when you shop through them, I earn a small commission at no cost to you. It’s one of the best ways to support The Parks Podcast while getting something you need anyway.

What I’m Using Right Now — My Hammock Summer

Right now I’m 30 minutes outside every single day as part of My Hammock Summer challenge — Memorial Day to Labor Day. These are the things making that possible.

Apparel & Footwear

What I wear on the trail, at camp, and everywhere in between. Tested in real parks, real weather, real miles.

Hydration

Staying hydrated on the trail is non-negotiable. These are the bottles, filters, and systems I trust.

Sleeping

Sleeping bags, pads, and pillows are worth packing. Because a bad night’s sleep ruins a good park day.

Kids

Making sure your kids have the tools and equipment they need is important.  Find things that will give them the freedom to explore.

Health & Safety

First aid, sun protection, and the safety essentials that belong in every pack. Non-negotiable.

Don’t see what you’re looking for? Check my Support My Work page for all my affiliate partners, or send me a message — I’m happy to share what I use for specific trips or park types.

See you in the parks. 🌲
