You can find sets of plates, bowls, utensils from many companies. I liked the GSI Cascadian collection (also available in a 4 person set).
I finally decided on this set because they were durable, I liked the size, and I loved all of the colors.
When it comes to size I was looking for a few unique things. First, the plate has a rather large lip around it. When I’m traveling solo I don’t eat at a table…but rather by the fire in my camp chair. I liked that this provided a little extra support to not end up with a taco salad in my lap. The bowls aren’t huge, but they are big enough that I also used them to scramble eggs, serve vegetables, etc. I love that versatility. And the utensils…GAME CHANGER! These things are sturdy, the knife is sharp and will actually cut your food. I like them so much that I carry a set in my bag with me at all time. Even when I’m not camping I’ll pull them out to use when a restaurant gives me flimsy utensils.
I purchased mine directly through GSI, but you can find them at Amazon and some styles at REI.
My thoughts:
- Durable
- Easy to clean
- Colorful
