Traveling to parks is one thing…bringing a pet along with you is a totally different story. In this series I’ll share my learnings, tips, and likely some frustrations as I try to navigate my park lifestyle with a dog.
Traveling with a dog changes how you see a park.
Not always for the worse, but always. There are places where she walks every trail beside you, places where you and whoever you are with take turns at the visitor center door, and a few where the kindest thing is to leave her home.
This is where I keep all of that — what the rules actually mean once you are standing there, what I pack, and an honest answer to should I bring her, which is a different question from is she allowed.
Tootsie has been with me for most of it. Where she was not, I say so.
Also worth a look: what I carry for her, and what has actually held up, over on Dog Gear.
