I started The Parks Podcast because I fell in love with America’s public lands. I’ve visited over 130 of them. I’ve stood in the Grand Canyon at sunrise, walked Harriet Tubman’s trail, watched geysers erupt in Yellowstone, and sat in a hammock in more parks than I can count.
These places belong to all of us. And right now, a lot of them need us to show up.
This is where I track every major threat to America’s public lands — what’s happening, who’s fighting back, and exactly what you can do. I’m not a policy expert. I’m someone who loves these places and believes that an informed public is the most powerful force we have for protecting them.
Every page below is a living resource — updated as stories develop. Bookmark this page and check back. The parks need all of us right now.
The bigger picture
These aren’t isolated incidents. Across America’s public lands we’re seeing a consistent pattern — required reviews compressed or bypassed, public comment windows shortened, protections established through years of advocacy dismantled in days.
I’m going to keep covering it. Every issue. Every update. Every action you can take.
The most important thing you can do right now — beyond any individual action — is stay informed and stay engaged. Subscribe to In the Parks, my Substack newsletter, for updates as stories develop.
Why this matters
Public lands belong to everyone — regardless of where you came from, what you believe, or how much money you have. 640 million acres of land that are yours. Mine. Ours.
Keeping them that way starts with knowing what’s happening. That’s what this page is for.
See you in the parks. 🌲
