#MyParkStory…
…where you created your own tradition with family, friends, or yourself
When I began to explore my interest in parks and nature, I thought experiences needed to be planned, mapped out and structured. More like a big vacation than an afternoon of exploring. Through experience, and trial and error, I now know that I can go to a park when I feel the need to play, explore, and spend time outside. Sure, some parks are commitments because they are far away, busy, etc. But I can always find a park that is good for an afternoon activity.
My new tradition is to go whenever the spirit moves me. I keep a bag packed with basic needs. So when it comes to going to a park, I put on shoes, fill a water bottle, grab that bag, and go.
