I bought an Ice Mule while visiting the REI Flagship store in Seattle. I had purchased several smaller coolers throughout the trip thinking it would be nice to have an easy cooler to have on the front seat for lunch, store drinks for travel days, and store vegetables that didn’t need refrigerated but I didn’t want them cooking in the car. Everything I’d purchased was returned within quickly because it didn’t keep things cold, leaked, or was just too big. The Ice Mule was a complete game-changer for me.
My thoughts:
- This cooler can be very compact. You roll down the top. So when I didn’t have much in it, I’d roll the top more.
- It’s very easy to store. When empty, you roll it up and put a strap around it. It’s probably a similar size to a Nalgene bottle.
- It keeps ice for about 24 hours. After that, the water remains cold for another 24 hours.
- It hasn’t leaked.
- Being able to carry it like a sling/crossbody is really helpful to keep hands free.
