Flagstaff KOA was such a delight to happen upon. I immediately signed up for an extra night. I wanted time to relax and soak in the tall trees.
Like most KOA campgrounds, they put a lot of sites into the space. However Flagstaff KOA seems to give a little more space. They also have a lot of trees and nature to make it feel bigger. The other bonus, in my opinion, is that a lot of pine needles are part of the ground cover so you don’t get as much of the dust and muck from being on stones. Okay, you might get different kind of dust, but I think it feel so much softer and better.
The campground has great amenities that seem to by typical of the “Holiday” level of KOA Campgrounds. You have nice bathroom space, clean laundry facilities (I think they have 6 washers and 6 dryers), and a good store for last minute supplies. But at this location, you also have shopping across the street for anything you may need. It was a game changer for restocking.
The kids will also be entertained with the jump pillow and playground. And your 4-legged kids, they have a dog park
My experience:
- The staff was really friendly and helpful.
- It was easy to book – but I did go after kids went back to school. I would guess this is a campground that is hard to book during the summer and holidays
- I found it incredibly peaceful. I sat outside working and reading for 2 days. It was delightful.
